‘Mainstream the School Dropouts’ at Dasana

Holy Cross Child Development Centre under the project ‘Mainstreaming the School Dropouts & Overall Child Development through Open School Program’ has been launched in August, 2023 at Dasana, Ghaziabad. The program aims to mainstream the school dropouts and support the underprivileged school going children from the locality for their education through open school program & their overall development. We express our sincere gratitude to ‘Manos Unidas’ for their generous support.

The program supports 75 needy children, prioritizing girls from economically weaker families, and integrates dropouts into mainstream education. Regular non-formal classes, aligned with the school syllabus, are conducted, and students enthusiastically attend and participate. We provide materials like note books, geometry boxes, pens, pencils, and more to encourage academic performance & regular attendance. Awareness sessions emphasize the importance of education for future success, benefiting both children and parents.

They engage in extracurricular activities, fostering overall development, creativity, and skill-building. Teachers track progress, provide special attention to struggling students, and conduct home visits to identify challenges. Additional support includes practice in reading, writing, mathematics, vocabulary, grammar, are being given.  They also observe important days and actively participate in the programs. In addition to these, we:

* Organise many cultural programs such as dance, drama, etc.

* Organise competitions such as speech, singing, fancy dress, etc.

* Organise monthly health / hygiene awareness classes on different topics.

* Organise quarterly medical camps and provide basic medicine to the needy.

* Organise educational orientation & health awareness meetings to parents.

RUPCHA sincerely thanks the Holy Cross Sisters at Dasana, Masuri, Ghaziabad, for their valuable collaboration and support in implementing project activities.
